India's Prime Minister Modi, Google's Sundar Pichai, and Mukesh Ambani (India's richest person) all showed up. Jio, Ambani's telecom giant, announced they're throwing 10 TRILLION rupees (about $115 billion) into AI infrastructure.

But Altman's comment is the one that grabbed headlines. Right now, using the best AI models costs serious money, which means only big companies can really take advantage. If those prices crash? Suddenly every small business, every student, every person in a developing country gets access to the same powerful tools.

The summit itself is historic. It's the first major international AI summit held in the Global South, and the message was clear: AI can't just be a rich country thing. Switzerland announced they'll host the next one in Geneva in 2027, with the UAE taking 2028.
